THE FIBER
Our service is delivered over fiber optic cabling originally laid by New Hampshire FastRoads. NH Fastroads got acquired by 186 Communications which in turn got swallowed by FirstLight. Getting hold of anyone is a challenge. Below are my notes from when I tried.
- The number for former 186 customers is listed as 1-800-520-9911 x 1 for business vs. residential, then 2 for not Maine, then 5 for sales -- left VM. Or, 3 for billing inquiries then 3 for biz -> this routed me to the same person as main cust svc line, duh
- Left message with sales Sep 18 and again Sep 20.
- Also called main cust svc 1-888-832-4976 Sep 20 and they said I'll get a call back, never did
- Steve Ligett said "I wonder if either Steve Campbell or Rich Brown (both in Lyme now?) have insight into the FastRoads Fiber ownership. I think they are involved with a Lyme fiber project, and have been involved with Lyme library and school fiber projects. Or they can point to someone other than that one person who answers the phone. http://www.lymefiber.net"
- I am on the mailing list for the Lyme Fiber project. Holding our breath til then.
