QBI QuickBooks Web Connector RLI

The QuickBooks Web Connector is an app that we installed on the main accounting PC and allows for NeonCRM and FACTS to send data to QuickBooks.

Someone from FACTS walked us through the setup over the phone in September 2018.

In March 2019 we wanted to replicate the configuration for another user, so we sort of cobbled together the process from memory + trial and error. (Since this is the same PC that the first user was using, the app is already installed, so we skipped that step but it looks like it can be re-downloaded from the same links where we download the setup file below.) PREREQUISITES:

- Be logged in to the PC and to FACTS and to NeonCRM (my post-it says that our FACTS ID is 8718 which may or may not matter)

- Be logged in as Admin to the Crossroads Academy QuickBooks DB

FACTS piece:

1. From within FACTS, go to Profile, scroll down to QuickBooks Integration

2. Download the setup file and double-click it, OK if/when prompted, this adds a row to the Web Connector app

3. Still within FACTS, go to Profile, scroll down to API Access, then "Decrypt" and copy the long string to your clipboard

4. Paste it into the password field of the entry in the Web Connector app

NeonCRM piece:

1. Gear -> Global Settings -> scroll to Third Party Integration section -> QuickBooks -> click QuickBooks Setup Instructions -> Download Configuration File

2. This made a second entry in the web connector window, yay. We think the password it will need will be the user's NeonCRM password, but it might be "neon", FIXME we'll update these notes accordingly.

If it whines about the logfile:

1. Go into Folder Options and check the box to "Show hidden folders and files"

2. Go to C:\ProgramData\Intuit\QBWebConnector\Log\QWCLog.txt and go to Properties -> Security, add Hazel and Carol as co-owners with full privs on the file so it doesn't throw an error trying to append to "someone else's" file
