HVAC PC

In late 2017, the new Alliance Building Automation HVAC system went live. Contact is Sean O'Reilly seano@amivt.com

So, most if not all of what's on this page is defunct, but we'll leave it here for reference/just in case.

There is a PC in Gene's office which is used for the building/HVAC controls. In November 2016, it started to be ornery and wouldn't fully render the pages because of a Java issue. Here's how to fix it if it happens again:

1. Quit Internet Explorer if it's running.

2. Go to the Start menu and select "Configure Java":

3. Click the Security tab, then check the box to "Enable Java content in the browser." Then click Apply and OK. It may take a few seconds to process.

4. Open the bookmark to the building management server and log in.

At the bottom, if you see a yellow bar that says something like "Java helper add-on from Oracle is ready for use," click the "Enable" button.

If you see a Security Warning about "do you want to run this application?" click the "Run" button.

ALSO: On IE 11, add 192.168.1.28 to the list of sites in "compatibility view" list under IE settings.

Control Technologies sent us a doc on how to fix common issues including this one -- it is attached here.

ALSO make sure IIS doesn't start up, it interferes with the built-in webserver used by Niagara. This killed us March 6, Greg Seaver gseaver@controltechinc.com fixed it remotely.
